Asbestos cement in good condition does not harm anyone in general because the fibres are captivated in the whole material. The only time it becomes extremely dangerous when it breaks by someone or something and this time the microscopic sharp and pointy mineral fibres get airborne and ready to land into the human body. Most likely inhaled and ingested. These fibres are so small the naked eye can't see. Once these fibres in the air they can fly in the atmosphere up to 72 hours indoor with no ventilation.
